The Opportunity:

The Georgia Tree Council, Inc. is a statewide 501 (c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of sustaining Georgia’s green legacy by partnering with individuals, organizations, and communities in raising awareness toward improving and maintaining Georgia’s community forests.  Its vision is that every Georgia community experiences the many benefits of healthy trees and a strong community forestry program. Established in 1988, the Georgia Tree Council fulfills its mission by bringing urban and community forestry education, resources, and leadership to communities across Georgia.

Position Overview: 

The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the Georgia Tree Council, and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the organization. This role involves working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and partners to advance the mission of sustaining Georgia’s green legacy.  The Georgia Tree Council is Georgia’s urban forest council and works closely with the Georgia Forestry Commission.
