    Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Operations maintains and operates the county's award-winning park system and provides high quality parks and recreation facilities, innovative programs, and quality services to meet the broad-based needs of Gwinnett's diverse population, fostering a sense of community, creating a safe and secure environment, and enhancing Gwinnett's quality of life.

    This position is an middle to upper management classification and is responsible for managing a specific function or management group.  Incumbents are considered the highest level in a business section/unit.  This position oversees the Natural and Cultural Resource Management (NCRM) Section.  The incumbent must have specific experiences in field collection and data acquisition utilizing current standards and equipment.  Proven track record of developing and/or implementing natural resource management plans. Experience in the application of ecological methodologies to promote positive biodiversity within natural areas.

    Specific duties associated with this position:

    • Guide and direct the Natural and Cultural Resource Management operations staff in optimally balancing the need to ensure the continuing availability of a diverse array of outdoor recreation experiences to the public while preserving, restoring, and enhancing the department's natural and cultural areas.
    • Guide the department in its current and future application of management plans specifically related to natural and cultural resources including, but not limited to, the Comprehensive Waterfowl Management Plan, the current in-works Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation Natural  Resource Management Plan, and various park master plans. Outline specific but adaptive procedures based on currently acceptable best practices to be undertaken to achieve the desired conditions intended by this policy.
    • NCRM Section Manager will assist in site analysis for new park lands including the  data collection and site inventories of potential park land purchases.
    • The NCRM Section Manager will act as the "Point Of Contact" with outside agencies including the GA Department of Natural Resources, US Fish and Wildlife Service, GA Forestry Commission, and other natural resource and environmental agencies who wish to develop research, information gathering, or proposed projects within the Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation system

    COASTAL ARBORIST ASSOCIATION

This position requires experience using equipment (chainsaws, etc.) and skills testing will be conducted at interview. Great Pay to the right person. We practice all Industry ANSI & OSHA Standards and Applicant must practice these standards. We would like the right person to join our Crew on a full time basis. All applicants MUST have own transportation and willing to have drug testing prior to employment. CDL Class A major plus! We are located in Loganville, GA and our Crew leaves the shop at 7:00 AM each weekday morning (occasional weekends are required). Salary based on industry experience.
