    Description:  

    The participant will be taught the uses and limitations of rigging gear as well as the forces and loads and how they have an effect on the integrity of the trees. The following rigging scenarios will be demonstrated: static load, dynamic load, load lifting, load balancing, load transfer.  Spar pole rigging will also be demonstrated if the tree allows.

    Content:  

    • PPE review. 
    • Hazard assessment 
    • Fall protection and rigging gear inspection. 
    • Tree inspection. 
    • Rigging plan. 
    • MBS and WLL 
    • Knots and hitches for rigging. 
    • Hardware and rope specifications. 
    • Static load 
    • Dynamic load 
    • Rope angle and elongation 
    • Negative rigging 
    • Load lifting 
    • Tag line use  
    • Balancing loads. 
    • Sling kits and knotless rigging. 
    • Notches, snap cut and V cuts. 
    • Chainsaw use and work positioning for rigging. 

    Participants must bring:   

    • PPE: Hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, proper clothing including Hi-Viz 
    • Complete climbing kit 
    • Equipment we will need: Do we need to bring all this gear ourselves? Will there be any gear available to use on-site? 
    • 3 Complete rigging kits.
    • Traffic control signs and cones, first aid kit 
    • Chainsaw ant tools kit
